Community Wellness Fund

Let’s create change we want to see in the world through radical self care.

The Community Wellness Fund invests in the wellbeing and transformation of a new breed of leaders, visionaries, changemakers and healers who are being called now to catalyze social and spiritual change.

They represent people from all walks of life— from the youth to the elders in our communities. They reflect cultures and lineages from all over the world. They identify as she, he, they, them or maybe something else. They hold diverse perspectives, ideas, gifts, and potential to solve our world’s most pressing problems and create new paradigms for what’s possible. They approach their work with sincere reverence for nature as a gateway to the vibrant totality of life.

The Community Wellness Fund empowers low-income and historically marginalized BIPOC communities to experience a holistic sense of wellbeing and inner transformation, including the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and vocational dimensions.

FUNDRAISING GOALS:

  • $40,000 to sponsor future visionaries in the Hestia Winter Incubator Program. This year, we were able to raise $7,000 for Malik, our youngest Hestia visionary, through a GoFundMe Campaign. We hope to underwrite the costs of this transformational program to at least 3 visionaries from underserved communities in 2022.

  • $10,000 for scholarships for wellness and transformational leadership programs and services offered at Hestia or through our vetted network of coaches, healers, and health and wellness providers.

A fund to catalyze world change

THROUGH radical self care, collective health  and social justice!

“Time in nature can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood.

Yet, despite the highly stressful reality of being a BIPOC in 2021, only 30% of BIPOC report spending time in nature at least once a year”

Falilah “Aisha” Bilal, a Black woman leader from Oakland, regularly takes time to retreat in nature and dreams of making it not only more accessible to people of color but generating a consciousness of self-care, deep connection to nature and a place for individual and collective health.  Falilah is leading this charge as the Director of this Community Wellness Fund!

To help facilitate more access to the outdoors, we are creating a community wellness fund to support BIPOC and low-income communities to rest and heal in nature as a form of individual and collective well-being.

Invest in the wellbeing and leadership of our visionaries and changemakers.
